1 / 14 / 25 – Essay #3 (Vision)

When the idea for a political website evolved last spring, self doubt surfaced as entrepreneurship into the unknown is time consuming, risky, and expensive but in the immortal words of Jules Winnfield, “God got involved.” How? Within 48 hours of the ‘don’t do it’ phase I happened to be on the couch for, ‘Tucker: A Man and His Dream’ (1988) and ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ (1968) which provided both the push to ‘just do it’ and the path to our name. Within his closing argument at the end of Tucker (see – A – below) Jeff Bridges stated, “We invented the free enterprise system where anybody, no matter who he was, where he came from, what class he belonged to, if he came up with a better idea about anything, there’s no limit to how far he could go” as I believe Monolith Media will grow beyond our borders altering the media landscape on a global level as this is our ‘Dawn of Man’ Phase (see – B – below).

During the 2016 election run up to get my ‘fix’ I frequented Real Clear Politics / RCP ( https://www.realclearpolitics.com ) as it provided hotlinks to political articles (mostly right leaning) which we’re going to ‘do better’ by channeling Ralph Waldo Emerson who originated, “Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door.”

Being a novice in the world of tech I hired a Saint Louis Entrepreneurs’ Organization / E.O. ( https://member.eonetwork.org/stlouis ) acquaintance Alex Wolk ( https://insiteadvice.com/team/alex-w ) who’s the creative behind our aggregator (currently in its ‘Beta’ stage ) which has ancillary presences on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and Wikipedia (currently dark) accessable from the bottom of the homepage.

In addition, a Spotify playlist (mostly instrumentals) was created over the summer while training for a 102 mile (metric century) charity bicycle ride (see – C – below). If interested in a tax free donation to Pedal the Cause that raises money for cancer research see ( – D – ) below.

The Monolith Media is unique (fancier word = groundbreaking) due to its;
1, Clean homepage featuring six lanes (aka channels) distinguishable by bias (see – E – below)
2, Our A.I. that summarizes articles
3, Readers having the ability to vote on biases
4, We’re author (not publication) driven

As of late November the site is only curating 30 new articles per day (5 per channel) which will evolve to 60 (30 new by 7:00 am CST and another 30 additional by 11:00 am CST daily) sooner than later. Note, the mobile has a glitch in that when one presses the drop down title a second time it should (not currently) result in it collapsing up into what we’re calling the wristband homepage.

The Monolith isn’t a website but a Community that showcases writers who’ll soon be offered a presence on our Writers Portal which’ll include a headshot, bio, about, and hotlinks to socials which’ll be $12 / month or $100 / year but this (charging authors) is on hold until our readership is in the thousands.

Once it takes off I’ll be free to pursue a lifelong dream of authoring free-flow non-political 1000+ word articles (emulating the writings of Marvin Shanken within his Cigar Aficionado and the early 2002’s material by Bill Simmons) that’ll resonate to the masses on topics such as suicide (which I considered at 29), my 82 y/o mother (her 10 hobbies and unlimited energy), wedlock parenting, alcoholism, my 30 years of NFL experiences, my evolving into then out of a family business, the steady downward trajectory of Saint Louis Missouri and its potetial rebirth, how a Saint Louis Elks lodge has grown from 200 members to 1000, and father-son dynamics – just to name a few.

We’ll be attracting a sought-after demographic and as the face of it I’ll soon embark on a media tour (if interested in advertising head to our Contact area) and the planning of a Global Summit (Key West or Sarasota) where writers convene to partake in culinary, cigars, and begin the process of finding common ground.

To conclude, we’re offering a neutral port where writers + readers won’t discern my political biases (hence why it’ll never be addressed) therefore it’ll attract not only the crazy right and extreme left but everyone in the middle who crave sane commentary to counter our polarizing world.

TrL – 11/14/25

A – Jeff Bridges / Preston Tucker;
“When I was a boy I used to read all about Edison and the Wright brothers, Mr. Ford…they were my heroes. Rags to riches, that’s not just the name of a book, that’s what this country was all about. We invented the free enterprise system where anybody, no matter who he was, where he came from, what class he belonged to, if he came up with a better idea about anything, there’s no limit to how far he could go. I grew up a generation too late, I guess, because now the way the system works, the crackpot who comes up with some crazy idea that everybody laughs at, that later turns out to revolutionize the world, he’s squashed from above. The bureaucrats would rather kill a new idea than let it rock the boat.Today, Benjamin Franklin would be arrested for sailing a kite without a license. It’s true. We’re all puffed up with ourselves now’ cause we invented the bomb. Dropped the…Beat the daylights out of the Japanese, the Nazis. But if big business closes the door on the little guy with a new idea, we’re closing the door on progress and sabotaging everything we fought for, everything that the country stands for. We’re going to find ourselves at the bottom of the heap, having no idea how we got there, buying radios and cars from our former enemies.I don’t believe that’s going to happen. I can’t believe it because…if I stop believing in the common horse sense of the American people, there’d be no way I could get out of bed in the morning. Thank you.”
