Timothy Regan Luby

Founder and Publisher, The Monolith

Tim Luby is the Founder and Publisher of The Monolith, a platform created to foster intellectual curiosity and balance in an era of increasing political polarization.

Recognizing the deepening divide in today’s discourse, Tim launched The Monolith to provide a neutral space where readers can challenge their assumptions, confront ideological blind spots, and engage with perspectives that rise above partisanship.

The name The Monolith draws inspiration from Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, where enigmatic monoliths serve as catalysts for human progress and transformation. Similarly, Tim’s vision is to guide readers toward greater understanding and evolution in how they perceive the political and cultural world.

Before launching The Monolith, Tim held leadership positions across industries. He served as Vice President of Communications at Luby Equipment, a regional provider of construction equipment, power generation systems, and industrial supplies. He also owned and operated Luby Oilfield Services, a distributor of high-quality oilfield equipment.

Beyond his professional career, Tim has been deeply engaged in community service. He continues to serve as a leader with Celebrate Saint Louis, an organization dedicated to strengthening the region through charitable engagement and entertainment-based fundraising. He also serves on the advisory board of the Show-Me Institute, Missouri’s sole free-market think tank. As a Past Exalted Ruler of Elks Saint Louis Lodge #9, Tim oversaw operations, led lodge programs across 30 committees, and upheld the organization’s mission of charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity.

Through his professional and civic work, Tim has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to leadership, service, and bridging divides – values that serve as the foundation of The Monolith’s mission.
