Thursday November 12th, the day after the 2026 election I emailed the following ‘ Internal Essay ‘ to the Monolith Media team. Those included the site creators / updaters, p.r. / messaging, finance, legal, lone writer ( under our banner), lone partner ( party of one ), and daughter so here you go.
Internal ( us only ) Essay ‘ The Fallout ‘
The anger, euphoria, depression, and gloating on social media today is good for us. No No No, scratch that. It’s downright Perfect for Monolith Media. What happened yesterday that spawned coast to coast anger, euphoria, depression, and gloating is a Game 7 bottom of ninth bases clearing triple. It’s a Walk-Off as we’re soon to Louisville Slugger for the cycle like a stealth tsunami because this team ( and WoW one could only dream – fantasize about the talent that’s been assembled here ) is coming. 1st USA, then Canada, then UK as the attached snaps (see below) forecast. Each of us, in own ways ( some more, some less, some not at all ) feel the anger, the euphoria, the depression, and the gloating as ( part of our brilliance ) it’ll never be addressed as that’ll be handled by our authors ( both curated and in-house ) as we’re not for Some of the People but for All of the People 24 – 7 – 12 – 365. Not just the Left. Not just the Right. Not for the Independents. We’re for Everyone – the whole enchilada because Monolith’s will fly over the Great Fruited Plain then Snowmobile’g north, Wimbledon’g across the creek to Britain, then Formula’g to Monaco.
This very moment – Wednesday November 4th 2026 – conjures up Red’s ( Morgan Freeman ) speech at the conclusion of Shawshank Redemption . . . I find I’m so excited I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it’s the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.”
Here’s another to remind that the quintessential moment when ( the Push that came from the Man upstairs – as ‘ God got involved ‘ ) prompted the call to Ken Bower with, ” I think I have something ” which Jeff Bridges delivered ( trying to save his bacon ) at the end of ‘ Tucker, A Man and His Dream ‘ . . .
“When I was a boy I used to, uh…I used to read all about Edison and the Wright brothers, Mr. Ford… they were my heroes. Rags to riches, that’s not just the name of a book, that’s what this country was all about. We invented the free enterprise system where anybody, no matter who he was, where he came from, what class he belonged to, if he came up with a better idea about anything, there’s no limit to how far he could go. I grew up a generation too late, I guess, because now the way the system works, the crackpot who comes up with some crazy idea that everybody laughs at, that later turns out to revolutionize the world, he’s squashed from above. The bureaucrats would rather kill a new idea than let it rock the boat. Today, Benjamin Franklin would be arrested for sailing a kite without a license. It’s true. We’re all puffed up with ourselves now ’cause we invented the bomb. Dropped the… Beat the daylights out of the Japanese, the Nazis. But if big business closes the door on the little guy with a new idea, we’re closing the door on progress and sabotaging everything we fought for, everything that the country stands for. We’re going to find ourselves at the bottom of the heap, having no idea how we got there, buying radios and cars from our former enemies. I don’t believe that’s going to happen. I can’t believe it because… if I stop believing in the common horse sense of the American people, there’d be no way I could get out of bed in the morning. Thank you.”
To conclude, I apologize in advance because as we get close you’re seeing the best and worst ( mostly contributed to the divorce ) of me as I’m juggling excitement, fear, second guessing, and a deep seated sense of doubt about our creation. As in . . . what about this, what about that, let’s do this now, let’s do it later, shoot shoot shoot, is it the time, is it not the time – as I hope ( above all else ) that my learning curve of media training ( so I’m perceived as competent, determined, organized, smooth ) is swift as we only get one chance at a 1st impression.
